Our TERRIFIC keyboarding teacher will be taking over the Spartan blog when school begins. 

He needs writers for the blog.  Would any of you like to be blogmeisters?  You would write short articles of things going on in the Academy - like interviews with freshman football players, what its like to be in the band, interviews with freshman actors in our play productions, winners in math/writing competitions, club members, etc. 

Let me know if you are interested in signing for a blogmeister position.

Hey Incoming Spartan Academy Students!

Registrations for Spartan Academy Orientation are coming every day.  If you have not already registered, please send me your name, address, email and middle school on this blog.  I’ll check every day.

Tune in to the blog to find out facts about the Spartan Academy and White Station High School - clubs, athletics, teachers, classes, etc.  At the end of the summer you will know everything there is to know about the Academy and the school. 

Let us hear from you!  See you on July 21 and 22.

Many 9th graders will participate in the annual Gateway Exams this week.  Tuesday many 9th grade students will take the Algebra Gateway Exam.  Last year over 90% of our students scored proficient or advanced on the Algebra Exam.

On Thursday many 9th grade students will take the Biology Exam.  In the past, almost 100% of White Station students have scored proficient or advanced. 

We want to keep our record intact.  Go Spartan 9th grade students.  Make White Station proud!

Welcome to our incoming freshman class - graduating class of 2013.

To get started on the road to success, incoming freshmen are invited to Spartan Academy orientation on JULY 21 AND 22.  Students who attend will participate in sessions where we will talk about 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, study skills, talent inventories, campus orienteering, a webquest and team building/lunch with the student council. 

The first day will conclude with FRESHMAN REGISTRATION.  The second will conclude with a cookout in our picnic area. 

Please plan to join us for Spartan Academy Orientation this summer.

Spartan Academy students - wear your Spartan Academy T-shirt (or any other WSHS T-shirt) and get into the 9th Grade Basketball Game FREE!  The game begins at 3:30.  A concession stand will be available.

Come to the East Gym and support our Academy teams.

Posters are going up this week advertising for blogmeisters who will contribute to the Spartan blog.  Do you like to write?  We’d love to use your expertise in keeping Spartan Academy students informed.  Get an application from your English teacher, fill it out and return it to your English teacher as well. 

This is the first year for freshman cheerleaders.  Under the direction of our 9th grade counselor, Ms. Candy Smith, several of our freshman have been practicing since mid-summer to lead the freshman in cheering on the Academy teams.  Come out to our first game to see the cheerleaders in action. 

Would you like to help make the Spartan Academy the best place on campus to be?  Would you like to help plan student activities?  Would you like to plan student recognition?

Join the WOW Team.  Come by the 9th grade office to pick up an application.  WE NEED YOU!

The Freshman Class will meet today to discuss behavior and academic expectations for the year.  Mr. Harris will review several of the handbook items including dress code, tardies, class cutting, skipping class, bus behavior and cafeteria behavior. 

Make sure you READ the WSHS Student Handbook to make sure you are aware of the rules and procedures that are in place at White Station.
